Revenge for Hungary

(Wolfgang Philipps) Another big clash on the opening day of the 2008 European Waterpolo Championships in Málaga, Spain ended with a big win for record winner Hungary. The reigning Olympic champions gained a close but precious 10-9 (2-1, 3-3, 2-1, 3-4) victory against the reigning World champion Croatia. Hungary´s left-hander Horbert Madaras scored three goals in the rematch of last year´s FINA World Championships final game in Melbourne, Australia, which had ended with a sensational victory of the Croatian team.
